Visitors to the Expo will get a chance to check out the BraunAbility Ford Explorer MXV and other state-of-the-art adaptive equipment for free.
Expo guests will also get a special first look at Helen Hayes Hospital’s new single-driver golf carts, which allow golfers with disabilities to play from an assisted standing position.
The hospital’s custom-designed Adaptive Driving Evaluation Van—used for driver evaluation and training with adapted driving devices—will also be on-site, along with adapted kayaks, water skis, hand-cyles, rowing machines and more for visitors who would like to explore new sports and recreation options.
The seventh annual Adapted Sports, Recreation and Living Expo will showcase adapted sports and recreation opportunities, as well as a variety of products and services for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their families or caregivers.
Exhibitors for 2016 include the 1Touch Project, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, The Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Push to Walk, and the Nyack Boat Club Adapted Sailing Program.
Additional representatives will be on-hand from companies and organizations offering auto and van conversions, wheelchairs and scooters, adapted and durable medical equipment, ramps, lifts, advocacy and law services, adapted sports activities and more. Admission is free.
